GIFTED Healthcare is excited to announce more great news for Travel Nurses.
On July 1, 2019, Kansas (KS) will become part of the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). The NLC allows nurses to obtain a multistate license and practice in any state that is part of the compact without obtaining additional licenses.
How Will the NLC Change Nursing in Kansas?
Kansas’ participation in the NLC will affect Travel Nurses in two ways:
- Travel Nurses living outside of KS that hold a multistate license are not required to obtain an additional license to practice in KS.
- Nurses who live in KS, hold an active KS license, and meet the Kansas State Board of Nursing‘s (KSBN) requirements will be eligible to apply for a multistate license. Once a multistate license is obtained, these nurses will be able to practice in all 31 NLC member states without obtaining additional licenses.
