RESPONSIBILITIES:

Mother-Baby RNs consult and coordinate with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patients’, both mother and infant, care plans.  RNs monitor the bonding between mother and infant and provide mothers with breastfeeding tips. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain a comfortable, safe and clean environment for mother and infant 
• Assist mothers with hygienic needs, checking for any postpartum bleeding, examining fundus and C-section incision (if applicable)
• Perform emotional status checks on mother, recognizing symptoms such as those related to postpartum depression
