Temporary License Processing
The Utah State Board of Nursing does not issue temporary licenses.
The permanent license will be issued within 2-3 weeks after the board of nursing has received all necessary documents (with electronic fingerprinting).

Nurses may obtain electronic fingerprinting at the DOPL’s office to expedite the licensure process.
- Nurses must have completed a licensed practice for at least 400 hours OR licensed practiced for at least 200 hours in addition to completing 15 hours of CEUs OR completed 30 hours of CEUs.
- For any license expired more than 2 years, nurse must submit a new application.
