Temporary License Processing & Walk-Through Service
It takes approximately 7-10 business days to receive a temporary license in North Dakota. Temporary licenses are valid up to 3 months (must not have any prior convictions or disciplinary action to obtain).

Temporary licenses are only issued while other required documents are in the process of being received and are used in the meantime before a permanent license is obtained. There are additional steps that must be completed to receive a permanent license.
Additional Information
Nurses must have 400 hours of nursing practice in the past 4 years and 12 contact hours of CE in past 2 years.
A 90-day temporary permit may be issued while waiting for criminal check results if necessary.
