Temporary License Processing
It takes approximately 6-8 weeks to receive a temporary license in New York after all of the required documents have been received by the board (must not have any prior convictions or disciplinary action to obtain).
The state of New York issues limited permits only to Registered Nurses who are under immediate supervision with endorsement of the employer.
Nurses must be employed by the facility and not a third party for a temp permit.

Additional Information
Proof of Infection Control Course is required every 4 years in New York.
Reinstatement:
- Nurses must contact the board to request an application and inquire about fees.
- Registered Nurses can walkthrough while the board is meeting to be reinstated RNs will be given a letter of good standing, complete with a new expiration date (letter costs an additional $10).
