Temporary License Processing
It takes approximately 4-6 weeks to receive a temporary license. Temporary licenses are only issued to applicants from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont. The license will last for up to 120 days (must not have any prior convictions or disciplinary action to obtain).

Nurses must send an email to [email protected] with contact information to request the required fingerprint card.
No temporary license can be issued until the background check results are received and reviewed by The New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
Nurses must have 400 hours of nursing practice in the past 4 years, and 30 contact hours of CE in past 2 years or have successfully passed the NCLEX within the 2 years before apply for a license in New Hampshire.
Temporary licenses are only issued while other required documents are being processed. There are additional steps that must be completed to receive a permanent license.
