When it comes to compassionate care, nurses give us millions of reasons to celebrate every day.
Nurses Week allows us to say thank you for the hard work and dedication you put in every single shift. GIFTED sees the value nurses add to any healthcare facility. Today, we want to talk about some of the reasons this week is so important.
Nurses are important at every stage of our life cycle. They help deliver new life into the world and celebrate with new parents. Nurses care for children struggling with illness and help keep students well in schools. Adolescents and adults find new perspectives on wellness and preventative medicine thanks to the wide range of experiences nurses offer. Seniors and those in palliative care find comfort in the thoughtful and gracious work of nurses in hospitals, clinics, LTAC facilities, and beyond.
4 million reasons to celebrate acknowledges each individual contribution nurses provide to our communities. Nurses are everywhere we live, work, play, learn, and worship, and in every health care setting providing care to millions of people. In fact, about 1 in every 100 Americans is a registered nurse. RNs alone comprise the largest group of health care professionals in the United States. This group of talented professionals vary widely in their specialties, but remain continually focused on providing top-quality care to all patients.
Beyond direct service at the bedside, nurses can become certified in many clinical skills and/or patient populations, beyond that, they often hold a wide range of positions including in direct care, in executive leadership, research, academia and policy. As an agency founded and run by nurses, GIFTED in particular acknowledges the travelers and nurse entrepreneurs we serve and celebrate every day of the year.
According to the American Nurses Association, the American public has ranked nurses the professionals with the highest honesty and ethical standards for 17 consecutive years. These results underscore the deep trust that the public has in nurses. Its a trust that has been earned through the high standards nurses hold themselves to when it comes to doing no harm and creating opportunities for growth and wellness. GIFTED nurses embody this on every assignment as they enter new environments so that all patients can be cared for.
Today, we want to thank nurses for the ways they make the world better. We celebrate nurses’ commitment to addressing public health challenges and their transformative approaches to health care and wellness promotion, in addition to illness care. We celebrate their endless commitment to delivering culturally competent care and increasing diversity and inclusion in nursing. We celebrate nurses’ role as a trusted advocate to ensure that individuals, families, groups, communities, and populations receive quality patient care and services. We share nurses’ stories of strength, resilience and determination while navigating an ever-changing and complex health care landscape.
