Experience the Grand Canyon

One of the seven natural wonders of the world is in the state of Arizona, so of course, The Grand Canyon is at the top of this list. This gorge attracts millions of visitors annually to take in the breathtaking views, hike and bike the trails, and more. Hiking trails vary from easy walks to advanced paths, so you will be able to take on what you are ready for. There are also tours available during your visit to experience up-close looks at the canyon.

Visit Scottsdale

Scottsdale is an upscale, resort town in Arizona not far from Phoenix. This city has a lot to offer for a packed day trip or a weekend getaway, from its art culture to golf and spa resorts galore.

Scottsdale is home to more than 125 professional art galleries and studios within the three distinct art districts in the city. The largest district is the Scottsdale Main Street Arts District, which houses the largest and most diverse collection of art styles and genres. More contemporary art can be found in the Marshall Way Arts District. The Old Town District is more touristy, western-themed, and home to the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art.

In addition, there are many spas and resorts where you can relax, golf, and enjoy fine dining to round out your visit. With more than 200 golf courses in the area, it is the place to go if you are a fan of the sport.

Take a trip to the Desert Botanical Gardens

With the high heat in Arizona comes lots of deserts. The Botanical Gardens, located in Phoenix, is 140 acres filled with thousands of cacti, trees, flowers, and other plants from around the world. It is an excellent place for tourists who enjoy hiking and wildlife. There are plenty of scenic trails that allow visitors to take in all that nature has to offer. You can also sign up for tours and events that are offered throughout the year as well.

It typically takes two hours to walk through the garden. Plan to visit Gertrude’s, a restaurant nestled inside the gardens, for a post-walk meal.

Spend time at the shore

Arizona is known for its iconic deserts, so you may be surprised by the sandy beaches nearby. These beaches border rivers, lakes, and canyon-edged swimming holes – perfect for lounging or experiencing a water adventure. With cool bodies of water in Tucson, Yuma, Phoenix, Lake Havasu City, and plenty of other areas in the state, you can plan multiple beach trips during your stay. Set aside time to visit these areas to enjoy camping, picnicking, fishing, swimming, and relaxing.
